Story
On the 9th May I will be shaving all my hair off for charity, this will be quite difficult as I’ve been growing my hair for a year and half and I’m really not looking forward to walking around looking like a coconut, however in the grand scheme of things it’s not as important as the work of the charity I have chosen and priorities must take precedent.
The organisation I am fundraising on behalf of are called Early Break, I could go on for hours about the amazing work they do in Manchester but to summarise they work with young people who have problems relating to drugs and alcohol, whether they are long-time substance dependant or concerned their current habits may become a greater problem in the future.
I have spoken to a member of staff from the charity who told me “any money you raise will go to our Wellbeing Fund which is a crisis fund that can be applied for if a young person or family is in need. This fund is entirely funded by the kindness of others from donations/any fundraising. People have used the fund for emergency items such as food, clothing, bedding, furniture, school items, shoes for an interview, bus fare to attend appointments and much more.”
Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and if you’re willing please make your family, friends and co-workers aware of the fundraising effort.
