Story

This Ramadan i will be raising specifically for mental health projects and campaigns and in order to raise as much as possible I will be making the sacrifice of cutting my hair, hair that has been growing since the start of 2022, that’s how much I care for this campaign. For more info on why we do what we do please read below:

Many Muslims in the UK are born into poverty or end up in it.

Studies show that 48% of Muslims in the Manchester live under the line of poverty. The Muslim community is under-represented in higher education and the workforce.

This greatly affects their chances of getting a first or 2:1. Research shows that Muslims are 76% less likely to attain employment compared to their white Christian classmates. Which continues the vicious cycle of Muslims in poverty.

The number of Muslims in poverty is increasing, and the lack of education means that they will never be able to break out of it.

MMSF are raising money this Ramadan to support our financial awards and projects. Every penny will go DIRECTLY to helping students in need and supporting initiatives.

We want you to get involved by thinking of fun and creative ideas to raise money.

Your donations will help Muslim students in four ways:

1)    Alleviating poverty: we support students going through financial hardships by providing them grants to help them achieve their full potential.

2)    Rewarding Excellence: we want to get the most out of our students by celebrating their achievements and rewarding their hard work.

3)    Building a Muslim Community: Feeling like you belong somewhere is imperative to a good working environment, so by supporting Muslim community groups, we enable the development of a thriving Muslim community on campus,

4)    Working to highlight the inequalities in the education system and make positive changes where we can
