Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am running the Berline marathon this year for Mind, because I think they do some great work around mental health in the UK, and my work at the community mental health team and the psychology department highlighted how needed their work is.
I am also running a day before the Jewish new year, rosh Hashana, in Germany.
This is not a meaningless thing. Normally I do not travel to Germany, as my grandparents escaped Auschwitz . One wise psychologist, Angela Byrne, suggested that I should positively re frame the event in my mind and think of it as if I am running to prove that Jewish grandchildren of those victims shall run there from all places, to show the continuity and the ability to prevail.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mind - The Mental Health Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you to all who did.
I ran the marathon in 5 h and 12 min. 13 min less than last year. It was a beautiful sunny day and I hd a fantastic time. A big thank you to Margaret Hunter who hosted me and to Lena who gave me a bath.
