Story
I am taking part in the national #16DaysOfAction campaign
which aims to end violence against women, starting on 25 November. The 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence stems from the original movement started by the United Nations - 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
I’m fundraising on behalf of Watford Women's Centre who
provide support services for women affected by domestic violence - your support can help a local woman rebuild her life.
To help raise much needed funds, I am committing to a random act of kindness each day for 16 days, spreading some positivity and cheer within my local community during these difficult times.
Below are a selection of the ideas I will be accomplishing, taking into account social distancing rules:
- Donate flowers to a care home
- Pay someone an unexpected compliment
- Reconnect with a friend who I’ve lost touch with
- Leave a complimentary review for my favourite
restaurant - Give my favourite book to a friend
- Give positive feedback about a colleague to their boss
- Buy local products from a small independent shop
- Handwrite a letter to someone and post it
- List all the positive qualities of a family member,
and share it with them
