Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 24th of October 2015 I will have my head and face shaved clean in support of my aunt, a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer a few weeks ago. As a result of the chemotherapy she has lost her hair, and I want to do the same in support of her and others with cancer.
I invite others to join me in the Great Dave Shave. The clippers will come out at the Fantasticon Sci Fi and Fantasy Convention in Hull on 24th October and the event will be filmed to put on YouTube (and might even be streamed live through the Twitch.tv website). If you will be at Fantasticon and want to wield the clippers and/or be shaved at the same time, please come along and encourage your friends and family to donate on this page too. If you can't make it, then please donate anyway and watch the event on YouTube!
Why Marie Curie? My aunt and her sister (my other aunt, not my mum) have both worked for Marie Curie and they (Marie Curie, not my aunts) have given my family lots of much needed support at various times when cancer has struck us. I have no doubt whatsoever that other families feel the same way and have experienced the same compassion and assistance from the Marie Curie staff. As such your donations will go to them to help them provide much needed care and support.
