The CHOMP project works with many families across Brighton, Hove and Portslade, who are on low incomes and are struggling to make ends meet.  

Families who usually receive free school dinners, have found themselves in a situation where they are stuck indoors, without the funds to buy the extra food needed, now their kids are home all day. Many of these families are also in isolation and are unable to secure food deliveries from the main supermarkets. Families are also struggling with keeping their children occupied, as they don't have access to basic art materials like felt tips pens, glue sticks, crayons, paper, kids scissors etc.

The CHOMP project is delivering food packs to families that are most in need during this Covid-19 period.   

We are also delivering art and craft materials to families, to help children be creative and productive whilst they cannot attend school or go to the playground.In normal circumstances our families attend CHOMP sessions throughout the school holidays in 9 venues across the city.  

Sadly our sessions cannot run currently, due to government guidelines and this is having a big impact on our families, as the hot and healthy free lunch and inclusive and engaging activities of a CHOMP session are being missed hugely by both the children and their grown-ups.
