In memory of Seamus Hegarty

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

In memory of my father, Seamus Hegarty, I am competing in the Virgin Active London Triathlon (Sun 31th July) to raise money for the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Charity. Seamus died six months ago at the age of 59 after battling with the disease for several years. If our donations can help towards the goal of beating blood cancer then it's a great and worthy cause.

"Mr Hegarty was a well-respected member of the local legal community and was also greatly admired in local sporting circles. He acted as Club Secretary of Derry City Football Club in the mid 80s and in 2002 proudly held the title of Men’s Captain of the Greencastle Golf Club."
