Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Reaching the age of 40 in 2016 I've set myself a number of goals that I would like to achieve during my #Year40.
Running a 26.2 mile marathon is one of them and it has been on my mind for the past few years ever since I undertook my year of charity running events in 2013.
I aim to run the Edinburgh Marathon on 29th May 2016 and while there is no doubt that this is a huge personal goal and challenge of mine, my main focus and motivation of taking part is to try and raise some money for what I hold as a very worthy cause.
During my 2013 running events the fabulous support from family, friends and business colleagues helped raise around £2500.00 for charities set up to both research the fight against and those set up to support people affected by, Cancer.
We have all experienced the suffering of cancer whether personally, to family or friends or even just hearing about the suffering it can cause on the news.
Cancer is an unforgiven, horrible disease and it affects many many lives of all ages, so when I hit the wall at 20 miles and want to give up with 10K still to run, I will really need your support, I will not hide the fact the knowing that you have donated and helped support me will keep me going, but deep down it's the knowing that your donation and support is helping to research and fight that horrible disease cancer that will keep me going to the finish line.
