Story

Former Drama student taught by teachers at Eden Court, Rachel is appealing to the public to help fund Eden Court during the current Covid Crisis and the losses they have made during this time.

Rachel wants to make it aware how much Eden Court has done for the community in Inverness, as well as all over the Highlands and Islands and is hopeful that you not only see the work they've done, but also help Eden Court achieve more in the future.

Eden Court is a charity which and donations play a vital part in supporting their work, and as they face steeper and steeper cuts every year they urgently appeal to those in the community to help. This help is needed more than ever now. Due to Covid, and the cancelling of loads of shows and classes - including the infamous Christmas Pantomine which means so much to so many all over the Highlands - Eden Court estimate losses to be in the region of £350,000 as a result. As a charity, help from the community is appreciated now more than ever.

Eden Court is Scotland's largest combined arts venue, showcasing theatre, cinema, arts and education performances for the Highlands & Islands. Not only is it a beautiful building showcasing incredible shows throughout the year - it is also a venue that is such a safe space for children and adults alike to take part in a variety of classes and experiences. Eden Court engage with the wider community so much, making classes accessible by visiting schools and youth groups and travelling up and down the country. They provide jobs to dozens of staff in admin, arts, teaching and catering. Furthermore, they provide work experience and volunteering opportunities. They support everyone and have a true love and appreciation to their members, students and familiar faces. Truly helping those of all ages and stages of life.

Eden Court is a charity for the community, despite being made to close their doors Eden Court have constantly been active on Social Media accounts and supporting the public during difficult and strange times. More importantly, they transformed their Empire Theatre into a Humanitarian Response Centre, sending food and resources to people all over the Highlands and Islands. They're a determined group, always willing to help.

To conclude, if you have ever been to Eden Court; for a meal, show, or class. Please take the time to give back to such an amazing building. Please share this message to raise awareness of The Arts, and the magic created there. #SaveTheArts #SaveEC
