Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Instead of presents this year, I'd love you to make a donation to a charity close to my heart, the Riding For The Disabled.
The Mid Sussex RDA group aims to give disabled adults and children the opportunity to ride a horse or pony, thereby experiencing the joy, the feeling of independence and the therapeutic effects that this exciting and often challenging activity can provide. Mid Sussex is one of over 500 groups in the UK that belong to the National Riding for the Disabled Association
My local RDA's riding sessions take place two mornings a week, at Chestnuts Riding School in Pyecombe, just outside Brighton.
As you can imagine, riders require a lot of support and care. The group is funded solely by donations or legacies and is run entirely by volunteers. Having lost their own beloved RDA horse a few years ago, the group is now fundraising to buy at least one, or two, of their own again to be part of their future RDA sessions. That is perhaps one of the best ways too of ensuring continuity and bonding between the riders and their horse, or pony. With the initial purchase, and yearly ongoing costs, this is around £10,000 to kickstart their campaign for this year.
Your donations, however big or small, can make a difference and I'd love to think we may be able to help this local branch of the RDA get those few steps closer to being able to buy their own horse or pony this year. How fantastic would that be.
