Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As lots of you will know, Daisy was born with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. It has caused her many challenges yet she keeps on going. It is the most common genetic deletion syndrome yet many of you will never have heard of it.
During November, we have decided to brave the elements and perform 11 reps of 11 exercises on 22 different beaches (22q.11). You can follow our progress or lack of on facebook.
I worry how many children battle through life without receiving a diagnosis. It was very difficult getting Daisy diagnosed 17 years ago and although things have improved, there is still a good way to go. Early intervention from the relevant specialists help these young people reach their maximum potential rather than leaving them to struggle and feel down about themselves until their self esteem is so low it is impossible to reverse,
When it seemed that Daisy had a very bleak life ahead, I discovered Max Appeal, a wonderful charity that supports people & their families affected by the condition. They picked us up and helped us along the journey that we now had to travel, and made it a lot of fun along the way too! So as well as raising awareness we would love to give something back to Max Appeal so that they can continue with their wonderful work.
