Story

On Saturday 14th October 2017 at Chepstow Racecourse, Sam Thomas, will line up for the fifth running of the Jump Legends Charity Race to raise money for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust.

Sam rode over 500 winners for some of the country’s leading NH trainers. His racing career began at David Evans, but it was at Venetia Williams that his riding career really took off, by the age of 20 he found himself as number one jockey to a 100 strong team of horses. Winners included the Lanzarote hurdle on Limerick Boy and a Midlands National on Kock De La Vesvre.

Sam then became number 2 rider to Champion trainer Paul Nicholls. Here he rode some of the best horses in the country winning on Kauto Star, Big Bucks, What A Friend, Twist Magic and Denman who he rode to victory in the 2007 Hennessey Gold Cup and the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Sam now trains at Saxon House Stables.

Please support Sam by giving generously.
