*** UPDATE: Initial target of £140 met - thank you so so much everybody! You're all wonderfully generous people. I've increased the target because it's only Tuesday and my birthday isn't til Thursday haha ;p ***
For the last couple of years I've made some breakthroughs in my own self-acceptance. I'm super happy and proud to be me in all my quirky gay weirdness, and lucky to have a great community of accepting and loving friends. A big part of that is down to living somewhere I can be myself without being beaten up or arrested: a life largely without fear for my own safety.
But there are millions of people who can never come out, and must live permanently with the slow corrosive trauma of never publicly being themselves, because society and the law is against them. (Many of these are former UK colonies, which today operate oppressively towards LGBT people.)
The Kaleidoscope trust works on their behalf, to make sure that they can one day also have lives without fear.
