Every Brilliant Thing - A play about Mental Health, 20 March 2022
We offer emotional support to anyone who's struggling to cope

Story

1. Ice Cream

2. Water Fights

3. Staying up past my bedtime and being allowed to watch TV

4. Paper boats in puddles

5. People falling down

A little seven year old girl started making a list of things worth living for, on the night her mom was taken to the hospital. Join her as she goes through life and the list grows with her and changes the way she - and you - see the world.

Aks Arts is proudly supporting the Central London Samaritans by taking you on an incredible journey with Every Brilliant Thing, that draws you in, makes you laugh and cry, and sets you free - all inside an hour.

I have produced, directed and am an acting in this funny and uplifting interactive monologue to be performed during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Thank you for supporting my first two shows of being back on stage after three years and a baby! We are so excited to be back again to raise more for an important cause. Support the Samaritans generously and come watch the show.

We are not selling tickets for this show, and all donations will go to Samaritans, net of theatre costs. Aks will be taking no payment for the cast/crew/production at all. Limited spots are available so please reserve your seat for the show by copying and pasting the below URL in your browser, or emailing us at neha@aksarts.com

What is Aks?

I founded Aks Arts in September 2009 as a means of creating a sense of identity and recognition through performing arts. Aks has created over 100 performances with actors from 9 different countries attracting a cumulative audience of over 9000 people. www.aksarts.com

Why Every Brilliant Thing?

Written by Duncan Macmillan this play has travelled across the world, through stage and screen performed by Jonny Donahue. For the first time on the London stage, Aks is retelling this story with ethnic minorities.

This short piece instantly draws people in as each and every person in the audience becomes an active participant. It effortlessly illuminates the critical issue of mental health in a relaxed and approachable way.

This show is suitable for viewers who are 18 years and over only.

Please be aware that mask wearing is no longer compulsory. If you test positive, please let us know and cancel your reservation.
