Story

I'm not a sailor. I don't have sea legs. I once got seasick on a cross channel ferry BEFORE it had even set sail from Dover!

So why on earth have I agreed to crew a superfast Melges 24 racing sailboat in a 26-mile offshore challenge - the Eddystone Pursuit.

Well, I'm the CEO of the charity Bowel Cancer West. I want to raise money to help beat bowel cancer, and raise awareness of how simple home tests and regular screening can help win the fight against a disease which, if ignored, can kill.

UPDATE: I'm delighted to say that the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Councillor Terri Beer, has agreed to join our crew. She has chosen Bowel Cancer West as one of her charities in her year of office.

Please give what you can - and take delight in us hanging on for dear life as we "help" to sail out to the Eddystone Rock and back on Saturday July 25th.
