Story

Hi Everyone

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

Several donuts, and a little earlier than expected we finally rolled into Lands End last Friday, 12 and a half days and 936 miles after we set off. Our thighs bigger, and waist lines a lot smaller.

All the money we raise will be split between two charities. I'm busy fundraising for the Exodus Himalayan Community Support projects in Nepal. For details of the projects see http://www.exodus.co.uk/responsible-travel/our-projects/himalayan-community-support

These projects include the Nava Kiran Orphanage in Kathmandu, the Thulopatel School in Daloka District, a smokeless solar stove project to help prevent further deforestation to mountain regions, and new this year they are supporting HAMWWA - a small organisation who help the children of sherpas who have died in climbing accidents. It costs £5 to provide a desk for the Thulopatel School, £120 a year to sponsor a child's education and £200 for a solar cooker.

John has been busy fundraising for the facial surgery foundation. You can sponsor him on his page here: http://www.justgiving.com/johnfinlay

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends of Conservation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Special thanks to Amanda Bleasby at FOC, and Valerie Parkinson from Exodus.

And of course you.
