I DID IT!!
I ran the New York Marathon on 1st November this year and it would be incredible if you could sponsor me.
Why?! I’m running for Sam. Sam is my adorable nephew who at 17 months (now 3 years old) was diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy.
Muscular Dystrophy is a heartbreaking progressive muscle wasting disease. There is currently no treatment - no cure - it is 100% fatal.
My family is devastated by Sam’s condition; every day is a race against time to find a cure.
Finding a cure costs money.
Sponsor me to take on the biggest physical challenge of my life. I have committed myself to 5 months of training, a healthy dose of blisters, some sweat and tears and 26 and a bit miles of running through the streets of New York City.
I would run 100 marathons if it meant getting a cure for Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. And you know what?! I believe a cure will be found, I’m certain of it, BUT only if we raise enough cash to fund the research.
Be part of something amazing, make this marathon worth it, dig deep and sponsor as much as you can afford.
Huge thanks
Sharon xx
FYI - Struggle Against Muscular Dystrophy is a zero cost charity - everyone involved gives their time, expertise, products and services for free. This means that every penny we raise goes directly towards funding research into Muscular Dystrophy with the aim of bringing us one step closer to an effective treatment or cure for this devastating disease. All of my expenses (flights, accommodation, race entry, and every other cost) are totally self funded.
