About Ashburton/Buckfastleigh Rotary Club
The Rotary Club of Ashburton/Buckfastleigh supports both local, national and international communities. Within the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh areas, we are much involved with supporting the youth clubs and related activities, as well as the Memory Cafe. Every penny raised with our fundraising goes directly to the charities concerned.
Although as our name implies, we are based in the Ashburton/Buckfastleigh area our work covers much further afield including South Dartmoor and east towards Bovey Tracey and west towards South Brent.
Rotary is a worldwide network of inspired men and women who give their time and talents to serve communities at home and overseas. Rotary is made up of over 1.2 million members in 34,000 Rotary clubs in 200 countries.
We are a happy Club of 20 men and women, of all backgrounds. We all contribute to various activities run by the Club to raise funds to alleviate the needs of others both locally and worldwide. This fundraising includes an annual Art Exhibition in Buckfast Abbey, a ‘come and sing’ concert also in the Abbey, a Father Christmas float and several other events.
However, fundraising doesn't have to be 'just hard work' - we also believe in friendship and fun! We hold Quiz Nights, we visit interesting places both near and far, as well as enjoying the fellowship of our weekly meetings.
Unfortunately, our fundraising is limited at the moment due to Covid-19 so all contributions are very welcome and will be put to good use.
