We provide care to survivors of torture to rebuild lives and promote human rights
Story
"Torture is the act of deliberately inflicting severe physical or psychological pain and possibly injury to a person (or animal), usually to one who is physically restrained or otherwise under the torturer's control or custody and unable to defend against what is being done to him or her." - Wikipedia
Throughout human history, torture has been a constant. Between 2009 and 2013, Amnesty International received reports of torture in 141 around the world, from every continent. Torture happens even in democratic countries like USA.
I have lived in Brazil during the years of military dictatorship and personally know people who were affected by the horrors of kidnapping and torture. For them and for all who are also affected by it around the world is that I run.
