Event: Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles - The UK Ironman 70.3 Triathlon 2011, on 19 June 2011

Story

The course: 1.2 miles open water swim. 56 miles on the bike and a 13.1 mile run

Am I ready? Of course not!

I am aiming to complete the race in 7 hours. It's the world's toughest Ironman event with a total incline of 2km and 56 hills in 56 miles of cycling. Wish me luck and please help support my chosen charity - Rotary International.

Rotary International are mostly known for their work around the globe to eradicating Polio. They also raise substantial amounts of money for Shelterbox - the survival box sent to people in disaster zones (most recently, Japan). They also support many UK charities including Children's Hospice's, Help for Heroes, Air Ambulance, Cancer charities including Cancer Research, Marie curie Cancer Care, MacMillan Cancer Relief, The Leukaemia Research Fund and CLIC Sarjant.

Please dig deep and help me achieve my goal to raise money and awareness for Rotary International.

Kind regards

Rob
