David Lloyd Newbury are hosting a 24 hour Sportathon on the weekend of 14-15 May 2022 to raise funds for sick and premature babies .. Lots of different activities, including tennis, triathlon and fitness classes for all ages so please get involved.

Story

We are raising much needed funds to supply specialist equipment to help sick and premature babies. Events like the 24 Hour Sportathon really makes the difference to these tiny lives so please be generous and support.

This 12 hour tennis challenge will be a massive test of an ageing body but I am sure with your support I will get through it and hopefully help to boost the funds.

I have had the pleasure to know Trev for well over 30 years through playing tennis at Kintbury and supporting New Life at various events including golf days and canoe weekends In the Lake District.

I have lived in the area all my life going to school at Pangbourne College and in addition to the tennis have played rugby for Newbury RFC,  cricket for St Mary Bourne and Squash for Whitchurch.

New Life  is a fantastic charity and has now raised over an incredible £1 million thanks to Trevor’s enthusiasm but also supported with a huge group of friends.

Thanks to Steve Dopson of Azego our team sponsors who will hopefully be picking up my medical bills at the end of the weekend!

THANK YOU

Rob

About the charity

New Life is a registered charity that is dedicated to raising money for special care baby units across the UK. The Charity was launched by Trevor Goodall in 1995 in memory of his sons who were born 3 months premature. Sadly they both died after a week but their struggle inspired Trevor to make a difference. In 2021 the Charity reached the amazing £1Million in donations which has helped so many sick and premature babies and their families.
