As many of you know, 4 years ago, my Dad and I participated in an American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon event on my Mom’s birthday. Inspired by that experience, we decided to start our own event dedicated to Judi. This event not only raises money for an incredible hospital, but it also keeps my Mom’s spirit alive.

On Saturday morning, July 1st will host a 20-mile bike ride to honor my Mom. Like previous years, it will most likely be easiest to participate in a location near you. Everyone can take pictures and map out their individual routes. If you would rather walk, run, or participate with a shorter or longer distance, that is perfectly fine. It is truly the thought that counts. You can share this page with your ride for donations before and after you begin. All proceeds will go to The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Importantly, I ask all participants to wear pink!

The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center always treated my Mom with the utmost respect and care. In return, my Mom accepted each and every worker as her friend. As is consistent with my Mom’s giving nature around the holidays, she came to the hospital bearing gifts for the 20–30 people she would encounter on each trip. Her giving nature is carried through all of us to this day.

Unfortunately, the trip to Morristown Hospital became second nature to me and many others in Judi’s life. But, based on my Mom’s energy and conversations with each employee, you would have no idea what she endured during her appointments. As much as you can attribute that to my Mom’s attitude and perseverance, the people at Carol G. brought the same giving attitude and are truly special. My Mom saw that from the beginning. The cancer center made a tremendous impact on my Mom’s life and livelihood throughout her battle and has benefited thousands of others. It is a place that sincerely deserves donations of any kind.
