Story
This page will be dedicated to our journey, as we prepare and attempt to complete our Normandy Beaches, 100km Remembrance march.
We all know how hard the last year has been for most, this certainly includes charities that continue to support Military personnel past and present, so we will be fund raising for the RAF Benevolent fund to enable them to continue their fantastic work.
The event was going to take place on 6 June 2021, 77 years since D-day. However due to current covid restrictions it will now be completed on 1st and 2nd of June 2022. Starting at Utah Beach, we will March 100km across the Normandy beaches, ending at Pegasus Bridge. We are hoping to complete this distance in just 24 hours and just to add a dose of nostalgia, we will be doing this carrying 30kg of kit, the equivalent to what the Men would have been carrying back during the D-day landings.
We will continue to post updates of our training and our planned route, with little snippets of the history that we will be remembering and observing along the way.
We are hoping to raise as much as possible for our charity, so if you can spare anything we would be very grateful. We hope you can join us on this journey as we look forward to the event!
