Did you know Sharon Brown?

If you didn’t, you missed knowing one of this world’s ‘special people’. She was a wonderful human being – beautiful, vivacious, generous and kind — she was the sort of person who would not walk past someone in trouble.

Sharon was a Norfolk girl, born in 1972, educated at Heartsease High School, and worked locally at British Home Stores and for Maclellan within Lotus at Hethel, before joining her husband Chris in partnership in a building company. They may even have built your house or extension, or carried out other alterations for you? Their own eco house is a testament to the quality of their workmanship.

Chris and Sharon loved cycling, and could often be seen around Great Moulton on their distinctive recumbent bikes, with their dogs ’Scoot’ and ’Bumble’ in the back! They even cycled to Gretna Green to be married. This special time together was brief. Sharon learned that she had breast cancer in May 2010 and after a long struggle she died on 27 August 2012. She had just turned 40. She left behind shocked family and friends, and bereft parents. Chris, her husband and business partner, has a gaping hole in his life without his ‘soul mate’.

But, being Chris, he is planning to complete a cycling adventure that they had wanted to do together – to cycle across the USA in May 2013—from Los Angeles to Boston — 3415 miles!

Chris wants to use this journey to raise funds for 'Star Throwers' cancer support charity, who gave invaluable support to Sharon, Chris and their family during Sharon's illness. They never gave up on her and were with her until the end.
