Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 30th May 2012 it will have been 10 years since we lost a great mother, wife, daughter, sister in law, friend and all around amazing lady.
In honour of her memory I am going to be organising a fundraising walk taking place on Sunday 3rd June. The route is still to be confirmed but will incorporate a whole host of memorable places in the 'East End' of London where my family grew up, went to school and worked; where I spent most of my life and am now, strangely enough, living myself!
The money raised will all be going to St Joseph's Hospice in Mare Street, Hackney. Towards the end of her long fight against a brain tumour Mum spent a number of months there being cared for by some of the most phenomenal people I have ever had the privilege to meet.
There are amazing people in this world that often go under the radar and the staff and volunteers of St Joseph's are just a handful of them who deserve huge recognition, and funding, to keep being able to do what they do.
The hospice not only offers nursing care for their patients but also a number of incredible, voluntary services. Not least bereavement counselling which I have now been attending for just under a year and that has really helped me to become the person I am today.
I'm keen to raise as much as possible to ensure these services are able to continue so please, please find it in your heart to give anything you can spare.
For any of you that wish to take part in the actual walk could you please let me know as soon as possible. For those of you that wish to be involved in the day but not necessarily in the walk I would love for you to be and ask you to please let me know too as soon as you can.
I thank you in advance for your help and support for me, my family and the hospice and look forward to seeing you and/or hearing from you very soon
Best wishes
Greg
