About The Red Rubber Ball Foundation
Our purpose is to provide scholarships to pay the secondary school fees for children in Kenya.
Scholarships are necessary for many impoverished children. Primary schools are free and local, but secondary schools are not. Children are needed to work at home to provide food for the family. Whilst school fees are modest by Western standards, they are often unaffordable for many families, where their income is only just enough for them to survive.
This is made worse if a child has lost one or both parents to malaria, AIDS or other serious complaints. If children lose the opportunity to move onto secondary school they miss the chance to better themselves and improve the lot of their families.
It costs from just £300 (or £240+gift aid) a year to provide a place at school, covering the students education and all boarding costs during their four years at secondary school. Or you can provide a place at a more prestigious 'National school' for £387.50 (or £310+gift aid).
And smaller donations are always welcome as this allows us to help children in other ways, like providing workshops to support their learning.
Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to RRBF and if you're a UK taxpayer then we are able to reclaim Gift Aid.
