I’ve been in Lviv and across the border in Poland, working with RE:ACT Disaster Response, supporting local NGOs by sourcing critical aid to reach those most in need across Ukraine.
Yesterday we shipped 30 pallets of food from Lviv heading to Khakiv and Poltava. Today we have generators that will head to hospitals in eastern Ukraine. Later this week we have more food from partners in the UK and Poland.
The NGO we're supporting (Ukraine Education Platform) were running educational programs across Ukraine prior to the war. They are now distributing aid because they are seeing such a great need in the communities they support - that, despite the best efforts of the UN and large NGOs, are not being met.
For as long as this is the case, we will be sourcing and buying the items most needed by these communities - from non-perishable food, hygiene items and generators - in Ukraine or in neighbouring countries like Poland. We'll support the Ukraine economy by purchasing there where possible, but there's a balancing act to ensure we don't impact the vital supplies of others.
100% of your donations on this page will go to directly purchasing these goods, and I know they will be greatly valued by our partner and the communities they support across Ukraine.
Thank you all x
