Story
Not being able to get a haircut during lockdown was the first time I've felt what it's like to not be in control of my appearance. I'm fortunate, as this was a fairly trivial example, but it made me realise how vital the work of Look Good Feel Better is in supporting the self esteem and confidence of people undergoing cancer treatment that drastically changes how they look. My birthday provided the ideal chance to ask for donations. I'm going to be 38 – and £190 will pay for the charity to send out 38 self-help confidence kits.
About Look Good Feel Better:
Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the only cancer support charity providing free support for people struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment. We run confidence boosting Workshops across the UK for people of any age, undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. We're dedicated to improving their wellbeing and self-esteem, and many beneficiaries feel LGFB helped them gain a sense of control and normality at a time when diagnosis and treatment had taken over their lives.
