In this blessed month of Ramadan, the month of the Qur'an, I am raising money for a large well and 1,500 Qur'ans to be distributed in remote parts of Africa.

There is a massive need for water in these areas but there is also a dire need for Islam. Many who call themselves Muslims do not have anything to read

Well to be built in Burundi - Below is what our contact in this region has reported back to us:

Muramvya District in the village regions of Gisase in the province of Bujumbura.These people are very very poor, one can cry from seeing the way people live in abject poverty with no basic needs of water and electricity.Water is so scarce to find even the dirty streams and rivers that you find in other communities are scarce here. People have to go miles and miles to get drinkable water. Women and children go through torture and abuse including gang rapes through long walks in forests and darkness just to fetch water. People die from all illnesses here because of lack of clean water. This region has a mix of christians and muslims. It has a population of about 13 thousand people.

1,500 Tajweed Qur'ans to be distributed equally between Rwanda and Burundi - here is what our contact has mentioned:

"Most of my work brother is Dawah, so I prefer the distribution from home to home, individuals to individuals who need, even if madrassah and mosques in need, I will see the need and distribute it myself.The Qurans MUST be used, so I distribute myself."

Many people have accepted Islam through this method of providing clean water along with Qur'ans. Entire villages have accepted Islam and we hope that Allah guides these people to Islam through us. Please donate generously in this blessed month where all of our deeds are multiplied many times over.
