We aim to support the education of children to give them the best start in life

Story

Girls in the Pre-Prep and Prep Departments at Pipers will be embracing the power of the wonderful game of rugby on Wednesday 23 September to raise money for disadvantaged children. They will be aiming to clock up as many rugby ball passes as they can in 15 minutes, to raise money for the charities, itrust, a children’s education charity, and Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby.
At Pipers Corner School, we are going to add an additional incentive to the girls in the Prep department by making this a House challenge to see which House: Milton, Mandeville, Hampden or Penn can achieve the overall title of the House who can pass and catch the greatest number of rugby passes. To add to the House Spirit, please encourage your daughter to wear their House ribbon in their hair. (Milton -yellow, Mandeville – green, Hampden - blue and Penn - red).  In Pre-Prep the girls will complete this challenge within their weekly PE lesson.

The rugby ball challenge is being repeated across the country by schools that are members of the Independent Association of Prep Schools. The final count at Pipers Corner School will contribute to an overall target of 500,000 passes.

itrust (The IAPS Charitable Trust) supports the education and welfare of pupils and their teachers. It not only gives its member schools an easy route to contribute to child welfare in emergency appeals such as the Nepal Earthquake, but also helps more children access the world-class education prep schools offer.

Wooden Spoon makes a difference to the lives of children and young people across the UK who are socially, mentally or physically disadvantaged through providing funding for a diverse range of projects such as sensory rooms, medical centres and specialist playgrounds. Wooden Spoon relies on its supporters and volunteers to raise vital funds for its cause with every single penny raised staying in the local community, helping the lives of local children.

So please donate as much or as little as you like.
