Story
Having previously enjoyed (?), spinning marathons and the ever so strange, 'Movember' in order to raise money for MacMillian Cancer Support, I thought it was time to expand my horizon's and attempt something completely different.
Therefore, a Parachute Jump beckons on 11th October 2014.
The fact that I have a huge issue with heights (true!), can only add to the overall challenge and will no doubt provide me with more than the odd 'squeaky-bum', moment in the lead up to it!
Motivation for all this stems from my mother Nellie, who sadly had two unrelated bouts of Cancer; Stomach and Lung Cancer respectively some 6 years apart. She died at the very young age of 64 in 1993.
Julie, her nurse, was there to offer a sympathetic ear and just talk. My mother probably knew she was dying and just having someone different to chat with undoubtedly made all the difference.
It is probable that we all have some form of connection with Cancer these day's, distant or otherwise, let's just hope there is someone like 'Julie', to help us or our loved one's along the way.
Please note: Macmillian will not be contributing to the cost of this jump in anyway, all monies raised go directly to them via Justgiving.
Give what you can, even if that only translates into your verbal support.
Thank's for reading.
