Story
We would dearly like to raise £16,000 to help the Percy Hedley Foundation fit out a new room in its children's unit. We can't think of a better cause than helping to ease the pain and discomfort felt by the kids in the charity's care so we have taken on a genuinely tough challenge which we hope will be worthy of your support.
On 11 September 2015 six British cyclists will roll out of Olympia, Greece, the site of the original Olympic Games and head west towards the small coastal town of Katakolo. When they arrive, they will be greeted by a team of catamaran sailing Greeks. What follows will be a race between pedal and sail that will circumnavigate the rugged and dramatic Peloponnesian coastline and include some of the most famous historical sites in the world.

The cycling route will be approximately 800 miles in length with upwards of 50,000 feet of hill climbing required to negotiate the mountainous Peloponnesian coast. The catamarans will have to travel a similar distance but rather than elevation it will be the winds that dictate their progress.
This is an endeavour that will test the cyclists to the absolute limit with relentless days of hill climbing in very, very warm conditions. It will be all the easier if we know we are making a valuable contribution to our chosen charity, The Percy Hedley Foundation.
