Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service do some fantastic work supporting children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
The charity are currently raising funds to enable them to complete a much needed children's hospice for the care of special children in Berkshire and the surrounding counties.
Completion of this project will help deliver a service that will give children and their families a choice of care and support from dedicated staff.
Alexander Devine are a partner charity of my employer Covea Insurance and it is through them I became aware of their amazing work.
I will be running the Monarchs Way Ultra, a 615 mile continuous ultra marathon event over 14 days in May - June. The route is a long-distance footpath that approximates the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after the defeat in the Battle of Worcester.
This is the inaugural running of the event which sees a small number of competitors covering an average of 44 miles per day. Support will be limited with competitors only accessing race supplies every 25-50 miles and must remain on the route (i.e. camping/sleeping) for the duration of the event.
Participating in this event is a huge undertaking and will be one of the most challenging events I have attempted and I hope you feel my efforts and those of Alexander Devine are worthy of a small donation.
