This year I am turning my hobby, bird watching, into a personal challenge and a more meaningful one than ever with hopefully your kind generosity, we together can make a difference in the name of charity. For this challenge, known as my 'Birding Life List' I am going to do my best to see 22 new birds (year 2022) in the UK and I hope to achieve this by the end of the year. My annual year lists have been consisting of around 200 birds and of which there are about 8 new birds each year, so this year's challenge is somewhat a mammoth of a task!
All donations received will go towards a charity called "Read for Good" (Charity No. 1130309l and website https://readforgood.org). To find out about the fantastic work that Read for Good does for children and their schools, and hospitals, please visit their website for more information.
To carry out this year long fundraising task, I will be birding locally and nationally, travelling further afield more than usual to catch sightings of as many new birds as I can and taking photos of these along the way for you to enjoy. I will be calling on my birding friends from around the country to assist me with any new sightings and of course, I will ensure to keep down my carbon footprint whilst doing so, I will car share where possible and utilise my family holidays. I cannot wait to get started!
Thank you very much for your time and interest in my challenge. I hope you too, will want to share this experience with me and kind donations of any amount to this superb charity is very much appreciated. Let's do good for the Read for Good!
Please follow my progress on this page, I will update my sightings as I go. I thank you again and together we can and we will make a difference (no matter how big or small) to the world of reading!
All the best and kindest regards,
Paul
