It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

I am taking part in the annual Aberdovey bike ride, however this year I have set myself my hardest challenge ever.  I have chosen to do the 4 day challenge!!!!.  4 days, 430 miles, over 32, 000ft of climbing, and all on a machine powered only by me.

I have chosen to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, but in particular the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Family Liaison Team.  This team do tremendous work supporting all the families but in particular the bereavement work they do is amazing.  This is obviously close to my heart through work and I have seen first hand the positive impact this team has on grieving families.

I heard stories recently of the staff funding items and work they do personally so I knew straight away they were to be my nominated Charity.  The Hospitals Charity have already managed that anything you give will be directed to PICU so please dig deep.  Not only are you supporting the most fantastic people but you are paying to see me suffer.
