Story
Millie(20), Flynn(18) and Patrick(over 21) have decided to volunteer in the kitchens preparing food for displaced people currently in camps in Calais.
We will travel over at our own cost and get our own accommodation starting from the UK on the 15th December and returning on the 20th,. ALL money that is raised here will go directly to RFC to help them continue to provide the 75,000 meals a month they currently prepare and distribute. We have been advised to bring warm and water proof clothing, comfortable shoes and prepare for a long hard days work... if as a family we can offer any brief assistance in these terrible times for families who are clearly suffering more than having to do a few days hard graft then we will.
£5 provides 70 portions of rice
£10 provides 20 nutritious meals
About RCK
We support displaced people in Northern France and homeless people in London and Edinburgh. We give people more than a hot meal, we give them a place to gather and connect. Somewhere to recreate a community - providing spaces for medical and legal services, safeguarding groups and other support organisation and people in need to meet.
We’ve been serving food in Calais and Northern France since 2015. Since the Calais Jungle was demolished we have been forced to constantly adapt our distribution points and styles. We currently serve food wherever we can find a safe place for people to congregate in the Calais and Dunkirk regions
