Story

In April 2019 we were shocked with the sad news that our mother was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). She was immediately admitted to Ward 11 Haematology Department at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where she received her treatment over the next 7 months. The staff went above and beyond throughout, showing compassion, kindness and support not only for Mum but also for us.

On the 24th March 2020, Mum was re-admitted to Ward 11 showing similar symptoms as last year and was unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19 on the 1st April.

On the 10th April, our brave Mum lost her battle to Covid-19 and AML.

During the last week of Mum's life the staff were incredible. Regardless of the current circumstances and pressures, they continued to provide their utmost support. We could not have asked for a better team to provide our Mother's care, therefore, we would like to ask for donations in her memory to ensure they can continue with their outstanding work.

We will always be thankful and keep the staff in our hearts.

Rest in Peace Mum we are so proud of your strength and bravery- Jess & Livvy.
