Story
I'm raising money for Pilgrims Hospices by running the TCS London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 6th April 2025 in memory of my dad.
My target is £350. Did you know, £350 could pay for a patient’s care from the Community Team for more than a 100-hour period. £25 could pay for an hour of nursing care, £35 could pay for therapy sessions for patients and carers, while £50 could pay for essential nursing supplies. Every penny counts towards the vital care the hospice provides for many families.
Cancer has had a profound impact on my family, and I am eager to support the vital work by raising awareness of cancer and Pilgrims hospice.
My motivation to run the London landmarks half marathon 2025 and support Pilgrims hospices stems from personal experiences that have deeply affected my family. Over the years, we have faced numerous battles with cancer, most recently my dad underwent a total laryngectomy last September following a diagnosis of throat cancer and was under the care of Pilgrims hospice for 3 weeks before he passed away on 1st October.
The care and support Pilgrims hospice provide is invaluable to both the patient and families.
These experiences have shown me the critical importance of cancer research, support, and awareness. By running the London landmarks half marathon for Pilgrims hospice, I hope to honour my loved ones and contribute to the fight against cancer, aswell as raising awareness.
I am passionate about raising awareness of cancer and the work that Pilgrims hospice does to support patients and their families. I am confident that I can effectively represent this charity, not only through the half marathon itself but also by sharing stories with family and friends.
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page and donating to help Pilgrims deliver skilled and compassionate end-of-life care, free of charge, to thousands of people in east Kent every year.
Your support is appreciated and so important, thank you.
