I’m running the Hackney Half Marathon on May 17th, and alongside the physical challenge, I wanted to do something meaningful for a cause that’s very close to my heart.

I’m fundraising for Inflammatory Neuropathies UK, a charity that supports people living with rare conditions such as GBS, CIDP and MMN. They provide vital support including peer connections, information, counselling, grants, and they also fund research to improve understanding and treatment.

This cause is especially important to me because someone very close to me lives with MMN (Multifocal Motor Neuropathy). Through our conversations, I’ve seen how uncertain things can feel — not knowing what the future holds, and navigating a condition that is under-researched and doesn’t even have its own dedicated charity.

Current treatments don’t always allow people with MMN to live in the way they want, and there is still so much that isn’t understood. That’s why charities like this matter so much — they bring support, raise awareness, and push forward the research that could change lives.
