Story
We need your help to build a brand new quarter of a million pound, state-of-the-art playground at Challengers Guildford Play Centre in Stoke Park.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build a bigger, better playground for the next generation of disabled children and young people, and the wider community.
88% of Challengers parents say this playground will improve access to physical activity for their family and enable their child to feel safe while playing.
Disabled children and young people have limited access to play facilities that parents of non-disabled children often take for granted. A trip to the playground was a near daily occurrence for our children.
Lee decided we would take on the challenge of trekking from the Pacific Coast to the Carribean Coast in Costa Rica (a surprise trip booked by Lee for me!). We will cross the width of the country hiking, biking and rafting and mostly sleeping under canvas, at times with no electricity. For those that know Zoe she loves being outdoors but not sleeping in a tent.
We will hike for 45km, bike for 162km and raft for 43km all with a total uphill elevation of 5750m. Thankfully what goes up must also come down and being supported by AfterBurn Fitness the uphill bits will be easy (we keep telling ourselves).
The trip is fully funded by us so 100% of all money raised will go straight to the playground appeal. We know times are really tough finically and are immensely grateful for anything you can spare in support of this campaign.
