Midnight to Sunrise walk, 21 June 2024
In memory of Lynn Lawton and John Lawton

Story

This 10 mile walk takes place 8 days shy of the 1 year anniversary of my mum and dads funeral. Nothing could have ever prepared me for how it would feel standing in front of both of my parents' coffins....side by side, as they always were in life. This has been the worst year of my life with lots of tears, mistakes, and grief. One shining grace in all of it was Dougie Mac. The staff cared for mum and dad in their last few months, treating them with the dignity and respect they deserved. But not only that, they gave us the chance to spend what little time we had with them at home. They were able to stay in the place they'd raised their family for 49 years, which is exactly what they wanted. Dougie Mac and all of the staff there deserve all of the help and support they can get. If I can help one family even a little bit, through whatever journey they are going through when it comes to the illness of someone they love, then I know mum and dad would be proud. Thank you in advance for your support xxxxx
