Story

On 6th April I'm running my first ever organised run (besides one park run lol) - the London Landmarks Half Marathon 🇬🇧🏃🏼‍♀️ I'm running for an amazing charity, Marie Curie, and in memory of two very special people - my Auntie Kay and my Uncle Raymond 💚

Originally a cancer care charity, Marie Curie is a hospice charity which provides care and support to anyone with a terminal illness across the UK - from cancer to dementia. Adequate palliative and end of life care is something everyone deserves, yet one in four people in the UK die without the care they need.

By providing care both in hospices and at home, Marie Curie mean many people are able to spend their remaining time at home with family. In 2011, they provided care to my Auntie Kay during her battle with a brain tumour, and in 2012, for my Uncle Raymond in his final battle with bowel cancer.

The UK's aging population will significantly increase the demand for end of life care in future. Every £23 donated can fund one hour of nursing care to someone with a terminal illness in their own home. Please donate any small amount you can to support care for those at end of life 💛🌼
