Hello my name is Zara, I am a youth panel volunteer for Nelson’s journey which is a charity based in Norfolk supplying bereavement counselling to young people. As a part of Nelson’s journey celebrating 25 years, I am undertaking a 25 mile sponsored walk to raise funds for this incredibly important charity.

The sponsored walk will take place on the 30th July 2023, the walk will be commencing at 6am setting off from Sloughbottom park in Norwich. I will be tracking my walk using my Fitbit and the app strava. I will be posting regular updates along the way as well.

My personal story with Nelson’s Journey…

”I was introduced to Nelson’s Journey in 2016 when I was struggling with the sudden loss of my nanny. At the time I found it hard to understand what had happened and how to process the what, why’s and how’s; along with all of my emotions. Nelson’s Journey supported me throughout my grieving process. Along with group activities I was also given 1-1 support from a lovely lady called Kerry.Following on from the support I was given, I have since joined the charity’s Young Volunteers and Youth Panel which has given me the opportunity to, in a small way, give back to the charity for all of their hard work.”
