Story
On the 14th September I’ll be undertaking a 212-mile bike ride, starting at Severn Bridge in Southeast Wales and finishing the following day at the Humber Bridge. I’ll be part of a group with our love for Lycra bringing us together. I’ve never done anything like this and yes, I’m a little apprehensive. Nevertheless, the training has started and I’m looking forward to really pushing myself to the limit.
This is all in aid of the Sailors’ Children’s Society who provide financial and emotional support to disadvantaged children of seafarers. Established in 1821, the Sailors’ Children’s Society have helped over 48,000 children of seafarers. Given our region’s maritime links, the SCS has a real and noticeable impact in our local communities. Please take a look at their website to see the great work they do and what a donation could give a child.
