Story
Hi, my name is Zach! I am 13 and I will be attempting the Sierra Leone half marathon this May (the 5th) to raise money for the charity Street Child.
Street Child makes sure that children are safe, in school and learning - in some of the world’s toughest places. They help children in war zones (such as Ukraine, Gaza, & Afghanistan), they help children affected by natural disasters (such as the Turkey/Syria earthquake and devastating floods in Lybia last year) and they help children in isolated and poor areas such as Sierra Leone.
For as long as I can remember I have felt that all children deserve the same resources and love as each other. This is why I want to take part in the annual Sierra Leone marathon - to do my part in helping those less fortunate than me and those who don’t get the same opportunities. This is my first attempt at the event, and I will be running the half marathon with my parents Anna and Dave. I want to make a difference, but I’ll need your help.
Our ambitious target of £5000 will be a great milestone if reached. £100 sends a child to school for a whole year. This would change the course of their life. School means not only safety but a future. Even donating a little makes an enormous difference and can help the cause. Please sponsor me and my parents, thanks for your support!
