🚨 Breaking News 🚨
Yvonne Crook, director of the popular event catering company Good Highland Food, has been caught running an illegal whisky distillery in the remote hills above Loch Ness. For months, Crook secretly distilled high-quality whisky, evading taxes and selling it on the black market. The operation was uncovered after a tip-off led to a raid in the Abriachan Hills.
Crook wasn’t alone—she was aided by Ian Macdonald (aka "Yiner"), a former insurance agent who had submitted a fraudulent claim for a stolen whisky vault, only for investigators to discover it was all a scam. The two were linked through their criminal activities, and now both face charges of conspiracy, fraud, and illegal alcohol production.
Yvonne is one of nine local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. She's been found guilty and has been sent down with bail set at £1,500.
Having traded in her freedom for Maggie's, With only a phone, laptop and her powers of persuasion, the challenge faced is to call on the collective goodwill of her network to raise funds for Maggie's Highlands. Yvonne's freedom & reputation depend on it!
"I am delighted to support the brilliant Maggies team as they bring Jail or Bail to Inverness. Such a fun idea raising funds for such a valuable cause in our community. I know from friends and family that the brilliant service Maggies give to our community is much needed and I am delighted to be able to add my support in this fun way. Fingers crossed I will raise enough for bail!"
Maggie's Highlands has approached local business leaders and entrepreneurs and ask if they would be prepared to be locked up for Maggie's. To their delight they agreed, and here we are today. All of the courageous jail birds have been charged with outrageous fictitious crimes and are now in cuffs and behind bars.
Jail or bail is sure to be fun for everyone involved, but let's not forget the important reason behind the event: to raise funds to support people with cancer.
