Story
I can’t even write this without getting emotional. Still processing losing my best friend. Penni passed away on the 18th February 2024 peacefully in her sleep after battling with cancer for 4 years. She was brave, a fighter and had to cope with many challenges along the way. I was amazed by her courage and tenacity to juggle motherhood, work and every day life routine whilst receiving cancer treatment.
I will be taking part in the Montane Lakeland 100 race on the weekend, 100 mile loop of the Lake District. I’ve not done a fundraiser page for a while, but this seems like the perfect moment to run in memory of my bestie and raise money for a charity that supported her. The money will go towards The Brain Tumour Charity, below explains a little bit about them.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
