Story
The month of May is very important to all EDS zebras as it’s the awareness month for the connective tissue disorder Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and our Dazzle Walk is a way to raise even more public awareness.
This is why members of my EDS UK Yorkshire & The Humber Facebook Support group and I are participating in the EDS UK Dazzle Walk 2023 to raise money for The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK to help the Charity and it’s volunteers to continue their work in helping so many individuals and families living with EDS each and every day.
We’re all going to dazzle together in our razzliest, dazzliest zebra outfits and we’ll probably be getting a few second glances walking around Pugneys Country Park too or if you’d like to do your own walk as well just sign up at http://dazzlewalk.ehlers-danlos.org/ and then join our fundraising team through this page. Why am I getting involved? ….I have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos (hEDS) as do my two daughters so I know only too well the struggles, hurdles and difficulties all EDS zebras have living to the the best of their abilities with this life long debilitating condition.
Being part of our amazing support group helps individuals in so many ways to feel less isolated, understood and to be believed and this is one of the reasons I became a Volunteer Area Coordinator for the Charity five years ago, wanting to make a difference to individuals on their journey with a diagnosis of EDS and beyond, my role means so very much to me and keeps me distracted from my constant pain and I do all I can each and every day to keep our support group positive and a safe place for my members. Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with them and they’ll never sell them on or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate they’ll send your money direct to the Charity so it’s the most efficient way to donate saving time and cutting costs Charity. Thank you for your time & support helping EDS UK in anyway you can. we want to keep supporting the great work they do
