Story
For over ten years Big Help Project has formed a social impact eco-system, providing on-the-ground wrap-around services to make sure nobody is left in crisis. Every day of the week Big Help Project is making a difference and helping people break the cycle of poverty.
Big Help Project understands food is a basic human need. They work to supply and deliver food to people as a human right. Big Help Project has designed an innovative solution to replace government food allowances and food banks. Food Clubs give more choice, dignity and access to food as well as personal items for £3.50 per person, per week. Thier Food Clubs strive to sustain and serve all members of the community - even if £3.50 is a stretch to pay for a week or so.
In excess of 150,000 people have been fed by seeking support through Big Help Food over the course of the pandemic during 2021 and 2022, this is equivalent, to the population of the Borough of Knowsley. We are now feeding over 9,000 individuals and families each month through our food projects, our sustainable model means that we are collecting and distributing well over 200 tons of surplus food which is saved from going to waste at landfills.
