Story

Since 1978 YFW Blood Bikes has been providing a free 24/7 emergency medical courier service for the NHS and is the longest continuous serving blood bike charity in the UK.

The charity receives no government funding and runs through donations of the public, with all monies received going directly to the charity, to enable it to keep our fleet of liveried vehicles in a ready state for those all important calls.

It is why myself (Kris K) with 7 other riders (Nigel M, Andrew W, Steve B, Kristian S, Jack G and Dave C) who volunteer and ride on behalf of the charity, have chosen to undertake the grand challenge of covering over 1000 miles in 24 hours. All costs associated with this challenge are being paid by those taking part, allowing all proceeds raised to go directly to the charity to allow us to continue providing this much needed service to NHS Trusts in the Somerset and West Dorset areas.
